PITTSBURGH – HM Insurance Group (HM) has named Bill Miller as senior vice president, underwriting. Bill has more than 35 years of experience as an underwriter and has served a decade in an executive leadership role at HM.
“HM will benefit enormously from Bill’s knowledge of the national stop loss market,” Matt Rhenish, HM Insurance Group president and COO, said. “His underwriting background is diverse, and he already has strong, effective relationships with our underwriting and sales teams, as well as with many producer and TPA partners.”
Since joining HM in 2002, Bill has spent the past 10 years as HM’s vice president of underwriting, focused on the development, execution and monitoring of stop loss pricing and related strategies. In his new role, he will be responsible for underwriting strategy and execution for HM’s stop loss, workers’ compensation and managed care reinsurance lines of business, as well as meeting revenue and profitability objectives.
Prior to joining HM, Bill was vice president, marketing and underwriting, at Reinsurance Management, Inc., for 12 years. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, he holds accreditations from the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA) and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He also is an approved continuing education instructor for agents, brokers and TPAs.
