Steve Donnelly serves as senior vice president, HM Specialty for HM Insurance Group (HM). In this role, he is leading HM’s entry into the assumed reinsurance market for Accident and Health business and is responsible for growing our presence in that market.
With more than 30 years of industry experience, Steve’s areas of expertise include underwriting, reinsurance, insurance and Stop Loss. Prior to joining HM in 2022, Steve served as a senior vice president at ParetoHealth. Before that, he was at AXA/XL Re America for more than 10 years, serving as senior vice president, accident and health. He also was a founder and key executive at DSU, LLC, a managing general underwriter (MGU) specializing in stop loss, excess medical and group life reinsurance and has held leadership roles at various leading reinsurance companies.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Albany.
